SWAU
MBA Program - Online and Weekend Schedule
Count On
Southwestern to Give You the Professional Edge in a Christian Learning
Environment!
The objectives of the MBA
program include providing students with the knowledge and skills that will
help them excel in areas of teamwork, communication, creative thinking,
change and development, diversity management, decision-making, and more
importantly, trustfulness. Our goal is to make a difference in the
preparation of future business leaders.
In order to help nurture more professional workers to become tomorrow’s leaders
and excel in their workplace, Southwestern Adventist University’s Master of
Business Administration (MBA) program recently has been restructured to make
it more convenient, accessible and affordable.
Easy, Flexible
and Convenient to Fit Your Work and Study!
| To earn an MBA
through SWAU’s full-time program, students may complete 36 credits,
divided between five required online
and seven required courses offered on
Sundays. International or out-of-state students may
choose to take those five online courses before they arrive on the SWAU
main campus to complete the remaining seven courses.
|
The curriculum provides a broad
understanding of the entire business enterprise, while allowing students to
explore managerial and accounting aspects of business in greater depth.
Business students often conduct a management consultant project (e.g. to
save some local business in crisis), learn about publishing articles, and
participate in professional contests such as the S. I. F. E. (Students in
Free Enterprises) community service program.
A Friendly, Safe and Professional Learning
Environment will Help You Go Farther!
The SWAU business department has assembled a full-time
faculty of Adventist scholars who are committed to providing students with a
rich Christian educational experience, inside and outside the classroom. Due to
the friendly campus, the high quality of the business education, the
pleasant weather and the accessibility to the greater Dallas metropolitan
area, many international students have found Southwestern Adventist
University to be the best choice for obtaining their dream degree, building
their career future, and starting their family.

Excellent Academic Performance
and Learning Outcome -ETS
-Major Field Test
Southwestern
Adventist University Business program uses the ETS Major Field Test,
proposed by AACSB and IACBE, to measure the understanding of the common body
of knowledge and skills of all business graduates. The performance of
Southwestern Adventist University graduates on the ETS test has been strong.
Last year the results of senior
business students ETS Achievement Test issued by have shown 5 of 8
business subjects were ranked top 5% in the nation, which mean 95% of other
business programs in U.S.A. were ranked below Southwestern Adventist
University Business Department. MBA students found a job three months
before and immediately after their graduation.
The overall SWAU student score for 2007-2008 school years is significantly
higher than national mean compared to 224 institutions in the ETS national
data. Overall, we are
quite pleased with several of our subject field results and will continue
pushing our business students to their limits in order to ensure the quality
of Christian education at Southwestern Adventist University.

Announcement
SWAU SIFE Won Dallas
Regional Competition in 2008!
Congratulations to
our SWAU SIFE team for carrying the SWAU’s tradition of winning the SIFE
Regional Competition, and Market and Economics Award yesterday on March 17
at Dallas Hyatt Regency Hotel (Reunion Tower). There were about thirty
universities competing in various leagues. Our SWAU SIFE along with Quincy
University won League 4. We competed with several universities such as
University of Texas, St. Mary University, Cameron University and Wayland
Baptist University. This is the fifth time in last five years that our SIFE
team has won the Regional League and been invited to compete at the national
competition held on May 16 at Chicago. Our SWAU SIFE program was
found in
1997. In past 10 years, our SIFE team won totally eight times of Regional
Championships.
This has been a
year of hard work and exceptional leadership by our SIFE president, Louis
Cruz, new Sam Walton Fellow this year, Prof. Roger Dunder, and fiercely
dedicated SIFE members , Jessica Burt, Kimberly Burt, Duane Valencia,
Rebecca Valencia,
Adeniyi Adeyemo, Lumbu Tresor, Edward
Li, and etc, along with a total of 38 SIFE students.
We
had 30 business student join this event and they had great time to interact
with those leading corporations in terms of resume submissions, exploration
of career opportunities, registrationfor
summer internship programs. Most of job recruiters from SIFE sponsored
corporations such as HSBC, FritoLay, Sam’s Club, Walgreen, JCPenny, Wells
Fargo Bank, HSBC Bank and Campbell Soup, did remember our university SIFE
team as one of SIFE champion teams in the history and promised me to
contact our SIFE students for the internship and employment positions as
soon as possible. Last year our MBA graduates, Suzy Morales, Andrew Gordon
and Batya Sequin were successfully hired during SIFE regional competitions.
In the SIFE National Competition 2008, more than 150 leading
corporations set a career fair and on-site interview booths to recruit SIFE members
to join their workforce. You may click the link for more details.
http://www.sife.org/OurNetwork/donorpartners/Pages/FriendExtrordinaire.aspx
We will continue our mission and journey to explore the leadership
potentials among all the SIFE members. It really takes dedication and
commitment to achieve this success. I am just so pleased with what they
have accomplished.
